Features
1. Excellent Corrosion Resistance
The 5052 aluminum plate is a typical Al-Mg (aluminum-magnesium) alloy containing 2.2%–2.8% magnesium, giving it strong natural corrosion resistance. When exposed to air, moisture, or chemical media, a dense oxide film (less than 0.01 mm thick) forms on its surface. This stable, tightly bonded film prevents oxygen and moisture from penetrating, effectively stopping further corrosion.
2. Good Forming and Processing Performance
In annealed (O) or semi-hard (H32, H34) conditions, 5052 aluminum plate has excellent ductility, with an elongation of 12%–20% and tensile strength between 215–265 MPa. It can be easily cut, stamped, stretched, and bent at room temperature without cracking or excessive work hardening.
3. Stable Performance at High Temperatures
With a melting point of about 607°C, the 5052 aluminum plate maintains stable mechanical properties during long-term use at temperatures up to 150°C. Even under short-term heating below 250°C, it retains its strength without noticeable softening or deformation.
4. Excellent Welding Adaptability
The 5052 aluminum plate has strong weldability and can be joined using common methods such as TIG and MIG welding. With 5356 or 4043 welding wires, it resists thermal cracking, and the welded joints maintain over 80% of the base metal's strength. Even without post-weld heat treatment, the welds retain good corrosion resistance and structural stability.
